In the last, busy days of summer I hope that you are getting a chance to spend time with your middle and high schoolers enjoying more than just school shopping and summer homework. I hope that you have time to enjoy them- to enjoy the sweetness of parenting, the connection and the gift that our children are to us. Sometimes as our kids age we find ourselves wondering if they will be ready- ready for the next year, ready for the next school, for college? Sometimes it’s hard to think about the right now and to enjoy the moments that we have with our tweens and teens- moments to connect and to enjoy them.
As our school year is coming under way, we are also getting started with our fall programming soon with the kick off of Sunday School and all of our fall events. I want to highlight that in addition to all of the fun of Rally Day on 9/10 that we will also be remembering our first responders by completing goody bags to give to them. We are asking that the congregation donates gift cards for our police, fire and rescue squad members.
Yours in Christ,
